RELEASE | Kellogg-Briand 2.0: Delusional French Diplomacy Will Bring More War – Not Peace – Again
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Nearly one hundred years ago, the French government proposed a treaty to ban war. The resulting Kellogg-Briand Pact proved to be an exercise in utter futility, notably marked by the outbreak of World War II, history’s worst conflict. Last Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he would formally recognize a Palestinian state in September. And this week, his government seeks to advance that cause by co-sponsoring with Saudi Arabia what might be called Kellogg-Briand 2.0 – another act of delusional diplomacy at a UN conference in New York.
