As the world celebrates president Trump’s “Gaza Peace Plan,” the reality on the ground paints a decidedly different picture. Hamas continues to violate the deal: refusing to return the bodies of murdered Israelis, torturing and killing opposition in Gaza, firing on IDF positions, and insisting that they will never disarm. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is tying Israel’s hands, preventing the IDF from responding to these violations. Alongside the joy and relief in the return of the living hostages, there is growing fear and anger among the Israeli public at the sight of Hamas getting stronger by the day.

As Jews in Israel and around the world celebrated one of their faith’s most revered holy days, Rosh Hashanah, the United Nations was exhibiting its default enmity towards the Jewish State by simultaneously scheduling deliberations on international efforts to foist on her a Palestinian one. With recognition of such a state conferred by Britain, Australia, Canada and France, diplomats are frantically seeking to ensure Hamas’ survival and stave off its decisive defeat at Israel’s hands.

Israel’s attacks yesterday on Hamas safe-havens in Qatar are the latest indication that she is determined to “finish the job” in Gaza. President Trump has repeatedly urged the Israeli government to do just that – and should affirm such support again at this juncture.

On August 15, 2016, the then-Republican nominee for president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, made one of his most important speeches ever. In a campaign event in Youngstown, Ohio, he squarely addressed the threat our country faces from the ideology of “Radical Islam” – and courageously laid out a comprehensive agenda for defeating it, both overseas and here at home. By design, the platform he enunciated strongly contrasted with the policies and predilictions of his pro-Islamist opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Nearly one hundred years ago, the French government proposed a treaty to ban war. The resulting Kellogg-Briand Pact proved to be an exercise in utter futility, notably marked by the outbreak of World War II, history’s worst conflict. Last Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he would formally recognize a Palestinian state in September. And this week, his government seeks to advance that cause by co-sponsoring with Saudi Arabia what might be called Kellogg-Briand 2.0 – another act of delusional diplomacy at a UN conference in New York.

The Victory Coalition and Israel 365 Action will jointly co-sponsor an urgent briefing tackling the latest on ongoing and emerging challenges facing America and Israel in their defense of Judeo-Christian civilization. Topics will include: the state of efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians civilians without giving life-support to Hamas; the facts about unrest and sovereignty in Judea and Samaria; Israel’s defense of Syrian minorities and the role of al-Sharaa’s government in attacks on them; and efforts to divide Christians and Jews supporting Israel.

In recent days, the Syria’s formerly designated terrorist group known as HTS has been implicated in murderous attacks against Christians and Druze as part of that al Qaeda franchise’s efforts to establish by force the control its leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa (better known by his nom de guerre, Abu Mohammad al-Julani) seeks over large parts of Syria in which various minorities are still in charge. While al-Sharaa – whose presidency has been recognized and rewarded with sanctions relief by President Trump – professes to condemn such crimes against humanity and disavows any connection to their perpetrators, in reality, the jihadists are, at best, tolerated by his government, if it is not actually fully complicit in their rampages.

On the eve of his first election, Donald Trump warned about the threat posed by an ideology he described as “radical Islamic terrorism,” sharply criticizing those who ignored that reality – and committing to counter it comprehensively.

Today, President Trump is surrounded by official and unofficial advisors convinced that deals can be done with devoted adherents to that ideology. Its financial enablers in Qatar, an al Qaeda leader now president of Syria, the surviving Hamas leadership and their Iranian sponsors are now the focus of various U.S. diplomatic and commercial engagement initiatives.
