November 11th is Veterans Day, a national holiday on which we remember and thank those who have sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic – and, in many cases, gave their lives doing so. Although a federal holiday, Veterans Day seems to be an appropriate time to call attention to the importance of that oath (or variations on the theme) sworn by other public servants and office-holders, as well.
