While much of the world’s elites have been focused on a fractious debate in Davos over the future status of Greenland and the prospects for the NATO alliance, tectonic shifts are taking place in the Middle East that require urgent attention. During weeks of massive protests across Iran, President Trump: warned that nation’s jihadist regime not to use violence to suppress them; encouraged the unrest to continue; and declared it was time for the supreme leader to go. The ayatollahs, nonetheless, savagely crushed the uprising with impunity.

The fate of Iran’s despotic regime appears to be hanging in the balance. The country’s population – after almost five decades of repression, privation and sharia-indoctrination – are in the streets, risking life and limb to demand the mullahs’ overthrow. Thousands have been shot dead where they were demonstrating; others who were wounded, were subsequently executed.

With the extraordinary feat of U.S. military arms that seized and extracted Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro on Saturday, President Trump has reestablished the priority of hemispheric security among America’s vital interests. In so doing, he served notice on this country’s enemies in the Americas and those like China, Russia and Iran that have been allowed for far too long to operate here with impunity: Freedom-loving nations and peoples in the region will have a powerful friend in the United States and their foes a determined and engaged adversary.

President Trump will soon make what may be the most important national security decision of his second presidency. And scarcely anyone even knows it’s impending, let alone how fraught the wrong choice would be. Given the incredibly high stakes for our people and constitutional Republic, the lack of the necessary public awareness and national debate about this decision is completely unacceptable.

This Victory Coalition briefing addresses the determination of the Muslim Brotherhood – and the countless millions under its considerable influence – to erase Western civilization and impose in its place Islam’s barbaric, totalitarian sharia code; the progress being made to that end in Europe and here; corrective actions taken in Texas and Florida, respectively, by Govs. Abbott and DeSantis to designate the Muslim Brotherhood and its most prominent front group, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) as what they are: foreign terrorist organizations; and the urgent need for President Trump to do the same. 

It’s not every day that the American people can have a direct input into the making of decisions that can critically affect the national and homeland security of the United States. Today is such a day. Donald Trump today signed an Executive Order establishing that, “It is the policy of the United States to cooperate with its regional partners to eliminate the capabilities and operations of Muslim Brotherhood chapters designated as foreign terrorist organizations…, deprive those chapters of resources and thereby end any threat such chapters pose to United States nationals or the national security of the United States.” These chapters will also be deemed “specially designated global terrorists.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott yesterday designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organizations. He explicitly subjected those groups and “any persons promoting or aiding their criminal activities” to prosecution pursuant to state law.
