Texas Governor Greg Abbott yesterday designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organizations. He explicitly subjected those groups and “any persons promoting or aiding their criminal activities” to prosecution pursuant to state law.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— When is a deal not a deal? That question looms large in Israel at a moment when American envoys are pressing their hosts to comply with an agreement to cease fire in Gaza. That agreement, however, was supposed to require Hamas to stop hostilities, disarm and give up power. It isn’t happening. To the contrary, Hamas is attacking Israeli forces and trying to take some hostage. It is massacring perceived political opponents and seizing their weapons.

The release by Hamas of twenty live hostages in exchange for ten times as many incarcerated jihadists and others detained by Israel has been completed, but the remains of most of those Israelis who died after their seizure on October 7, 2023 have not been released to Israel. There has, moreover, been little progress on other key elements of President Trump’s 20-point plan.
