MISSION STATEMENT OF THE WORKING GROUP ON ISRAEL

The mission of the Working Group on Israel (WGI) is to examine, analyze, and where appropriate critique and endeavor to improve U.S. Mideast policy. The object is to maximize the economic, physical and national security of the American people and to secure the help of Israel and other allies to that end. The WGI will endeavor to perform this mission creatively, aggressively and in as timely a fashion as possible.

SHARED PRINCIPLES

  1. The United States has a vital strategic interest in the survival and security of the State of Israel.
  2. The destruction of Israel is the immediate objective of her enemies. Without exception, they seek in due course the destruction of the United States, as well.
  3. The war begun by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and the subsequent wars launched against Israel by the Houthis, Hezbollah and Iran cannot be resolved short of the decisive defeat of Israel’s enemies – and ours.
  4. Consequently, the United States must assist Israel in securing such a victory by enabling them to purchase the armaments she needs to eliminate the threats posed by her various enemies.
  5. American diplomacy must be directed at thwarting international efforts to diminish the U.S.-Israel alliance by delegitimizing, sanctioning or otherwise undermining Israel as she pursues the defeat of her enemies.
  6. It is not in the interests of the United States to endorse, encourage or otherwise enable the ambitions of Israel’s enemies – and ours – to seek through either kinetic or non-kinetic means to weaken, let alone destroy Israel, for example, by insisting on the creation of a Palestinian State.

The Working Group on Israel is a new, informal coalition of American national security practitioners, subject matter experts, religious leaders, human rights activists and other patriots determined to examine, analyze, where appropriate critique and endeavor promptly to improve U.S. Mideast policy. The object is to maximize the economic, physical and national security of the American people and to secure the help of Israel and other allies to that end.
